League Winners 🏆⚽️
Our U18 girls made history in the RDYSL as they became the inaugural winners of the League. On a crisp calm night in Lecarrow, the girls took the lead as Daniella Kerr’s free kick found the net after a deflection. Castlerea, to their credit, fought back and scored two goals in quick succession. The girls came out with more energy in the second half and were rewarded when Kerr’s booming free kick found the net. Castlerea struck again to move 3-2 ahead. Lucy Coyle then won and converted a penalty to draw Town level. It looked as if the game was heading to penalties as Town defended a Castlerea corner in the dying seconds. From this corner, Town sprung forward with Vitoria Duarte racing on to a through ball to smash home the winner. The final whistle sounded within seconds. Ecstatic scenes followed. Andrea Murray then had the honour of lifting the League trophy. Well done to the players and their coaches Oli and Paul on a successful and memorable season. Thanks also to the parents for their support and our sponsor Warm n Cosy Homes.

SFAI Trophy ⚽️
Our boys U14s overcame Colga of Galway last weekend away from home. Samuel Godfrey scored a brace for Town in a game where Town won 4-2 on penalties. They are at home to Craughwell United of Galway next weekend. Our 16s were unfortunate to lose out on penalties away to Arrow Harps. Dara Kelleher and Aaron Miley scored for Town in a game where chances were not converted though the players competed very well against an inseason Sligo League team. Attention now turns to the Connacht Cup.
