What is Success? π€
Damien Duff led Shelbourne to the League of Ireland title on Friday night in dramatic circumstances in Derry. A late goal away to Derry secured the league crown, thereby stopping Shamrock Rovers from claiming their fifth title in a row. Success for Shelbourne. But how do we define success? Silverware signifies success but it is much more than shiny trophies. Success is skill progression. Success is consistent effort, communication and preparation. Success is respectful relationships. Success is the realisation of expectation. Success is excellence. Success is socialisation. Success is participation. Success is player retention. Success can be small or sizeable. Success is encouragement and enjoyment for all in a safe and supportive environment.
