On the Pitch ⚽️🥅

12s – On Tuesday, our Town 1 U12 boys team won at home to Castlerea 2 in the Shield semifinal. Donnchadh Hession scored a hat trick with Bilal also scoring. On Wednesday evening, our girls 12s side were also in semifinal action when they travelled to Cloonfad. After a titanic tussle, the girls secured a place in the final. Meabh McNeela (2), Amelia Bury and Mia Ryan scored for Town.
16s – Our girls 16s lost away to Moore on Wednesday evening.
On Thursday evening, our boys Town 1 16s were in Moore. Despite having the bulk of possession and numerous chances, the home side were more efficient in front of goal and progressed to the semifinal. Town 2 hosted Moore 2 in Lisnamult and fared better. Goals from Gerald Greene (2) and Rian Grogan sealed a place in the semifinal next week.

Success❓
Last week, we asked you what is success? Yes, silverware is a visible and memorable indication of success but there is more to it than simply shiny silverware. Success is safety. Success is consistent communication and good organisation. Success is respectful relationships. Success is skill progression. Success is socialisation. Success is participation. Success is player retention. Success can be small or sizeable. Success is effort, enjoyment, encouragement, excellence and is supported by a positive environment in the club and at home. Success is subjective but it’s much more than silverware.
