Finals 🏆

U14

On Monday night, our boys U14 Rovers team played Dunmore in the Premier Division title playoff final under the lights in Lecarrow. Town were top all season and won the Challenge Cup and the Sevens Cup. Having suffered an agonising loss to Dunmore in the Premier Cup semifinal, the team were hoping to seal League honours but it was not to be. Dunmore were the sharper side in the first half and scored the only goal of the game after ten minutes. Town upped their game in the second half but were not able to convert. Unfortunate absences in two league matches led to two losses which resulted in the playoff. Congratulations to Dunmore. Thanks to Barry Miley and Mick Egan for managing the team this season. Captain – Ben Dolan. Top Scorer – Aaron Miley. Player of the Year – Conor Keaveney. See Player Prize photo below.

U11

On Sunday, it’s the turn of our U11s to show what they can do. All matches will take place in Shiven.

The girls CL side play St John’s. In the boys section, Town 2 EL play Cloonfad. Town 2 CL face Ballaghaderreen. There is one all Town final as Town 2 CL play Town 3 CL. See CL 1 & 3 team photos below. 📸

Good luck everyone and enjoy the day. ☘️

Sunday Soccer

An U14 XI played Willow Park in Athlone last Sunday. A late, late goal for the hosts meant that the lads had to settle for the draw. It was an enjoyable afternoon on the Dublin Road and the team played some lovely football. ⭐️ Star Player – Max O’Reilly. See team photo below. 📸
