Sevens Finals Success ???

Four Town teams reached Sevens Finals in Shiven last weekend.

In the U14 Cup Final, our Rovers side had a comfortable win against a young and skilful Real side. Goals from Aaron Miley, Lucas de Sousa, William Godfrey and Eoin Naughten saw the older lads over the line. ⭐️ Star Player – Senan Grogan.

The girls U16 team won the Shield Final by beating Ballaghaderreen. Paige Caslin gave Town the lead. Ballagh equalised but the girls kept going and secured the win through late goals from Daniella Kerr and Lucy Coyle. ⭐️ Star Player – Andrea Murray.

The Town 1 U16 boys team capped off a good day for the club with a 3-1 win over Ballymoe. An Enzo Bueno brace and a goal from Rory Dunne saw the lads claim the Cup. ⭐️ Star Player – Finnan Devane.

Well done to all the players and coaches and thanks to everyone for coming out to support the teams on a wet evening. ??

Thanks also to Shiven Rovers for hosting the finals and to Padraic Clarke and League officials for coordinating the event. ??

League Action ⚽️?

U14 All three U14 teams had matches on Monday. A depleted Rovers team lost their first match of the season in Ballinagare. Goals from William Godfrey and Yurii Shumyhora had Town in cruise mode. But Ballinagare fought back. Town had many chances in the second half but could not equalise. A late chance hit the post. ⭐️ Star Player – Lewis Smyth. Our Atletico team had a fine win at home to Glen Celtic. Despite going a goal down, Town fought back to win the game 6-3. Joao Vitor Santes (3), Yunas Magomayeva (2) and Sean Hoare scored for the Town. ⭐️ Star Player – Dwayne Murray. Our young Real side were away to Moore. Despite a difficult first half, the lads rallied and scored five goals in the second period but their valiant efforts just fell short. Luiz Fellipe Da Silva (3), Max O’Reilly and Senan Grogan hit the net. ⭐️ Star Player – Rian Garvey.

U12 Town hosted a double header on Tuesday evening. Town 2 were unlucky to lose to Lough Harps. In the other game, Town 1 drew with Cloonfad. Dominic Jacob scored for the Town.

U11 The Town 1 EL team are away to St Cuan’s. Our EL and CL girls teams travel to Dunmore. Our Town 3 EL and CL sides played Kilkerrin United on Wednesday evening. Our other three U11 teams have no games this week.

U9 Our four U9 teams have matches this weekend. Town 1 are in Dunmore while Town 2 travel to Moore. A super Sunday of soccer awaits.
