On the Pitch ⚽️?
On Monday last, in the boys U14 Cup, Roscommon Rovers progressed to the Cup quarterfinal after a comortable win away to St John’s. Rian Grogan, Lewis Smyth, Aaron Miley, William Godfrey and Eoin Naughten netted for Town. Our Atlético team lost out to Ballaghaderreen in Lisnamult and will play our Real Roscommon side in the Shield next Monday.
The boys U16 first team reached the Cup semifinal after overcoming Glen Celtic. Having been two down, Town scored five only for the visitors to equalise at the death. Town regrouped and Jonathan Ben Martin scored the winner in the second period of extra time. They will now play Castlerea Celtic in the semifinal. Town 2 host Shiven in the Shield this Thursday. It was a busy evening for the boys U11 section. Town 1 CL won away to Dunmore while the EL side drew. A win and a draw also for our respective Town 2 CL and EL sides who hosted Skyvalley Rovers. No luck however for the boys U18 side who lost out to St John’s in the rain in Lecarrow. After a bright opening period for Town, the home scored after a goal mouth scramble. Adam Hannon levelled but it was the home team who scored two more against the run of play to seal the deal. Izidro Ribas slotted home a late penalty. They are in action on Saturday evening when they travel to Shiven Rovers.
Ramadan Respect ☪️
After a month of prayer and fasting, our Muslim club members conclude Ramadan this week. We have a lot of respect for our players especially who have trained and played matches over the last month while fasting. Eid Mubarak!
Allez Senan ??
Senan Grogan travelled to France recently with the RDYSL Academy to participate in a tournament. Well done Senan. We are proud of you!
Nutrition Night with Atila ????
The club hosted an enjoyable and educational nutrition night recently in the clubhouse. Coaches, volunteers, parents and players saw and sampled smoothies, porridges and other tasty meal options. The demonstration by and information from Chef Atila Tavares will hopefully help our players to have better physical preparation and performance this season and for their lives away from sport. Thanks everyone for your presence and participation and to Atila for facilitating the evening.
Online Club Store ????
We are delighted to announce that our online store is now open. We have a wide range of club clothing on offer. Check out our online store and support the Town in style this season!
Be Sound or be Silent! ?
Respect is at the heart of relationships and we encourage our coaches, players and parents to demonstrate this throughout the season by applying the codes of conduct which they subscribe to. These codes and our social media policy can be viewed again on our website.
Our People! ???
